WorldSkills role within the global skills community continued over the past few weeks, alongside the activities of the 46th WorldSkills Competition. Here are some of the latest developments:

  • WorldSkills was part of the launch of a new Greening Education Partnership at the UN Transforming Education Summit in September. The aim is to deliver a better educated, better equipped, climate-ready workforce closing the green skills gap and helping individuals, industries and economies prosper.
  • In October, our partner UNESCO unveiled its new strategy to transform TVET. The seven-year plan promises to transform TVET and cements its role in enabling successful and just transitions across a number of socio-economic areas.
  • The final pitch of BeChangeMaker 2022 took place in September. The winners of the popular social entrepreneurship programme powered by the HP Foundation and WorldSkills were Happy Pads from Ethiopia. The BeChangeMaker Africa 2022 final will take place later this month.
  • On 1 December 2022, Yousra Assali, WorldSkills Champions Trust Representative will speak at the “Building Future-Ready VET Systems” conference, organized by the OECD and the European Training Foundation at the OECD Istanbul Centre.
