What's ON #3: WorldSkills Competition 2022 Special Edition
The 46th WorldSkills Competition expands beyond Europe to Japan and Korea with 10 events and a total of 24 skill competitions taking place.
Hello WorldSkills Community! This is issue #3 of WorldSkills Competition 2022 Special Edition What’s ON updates. This week we are raising our game with 10 events and a total of 24 skill competitions taking place!
The 46th WorldSkills Competition will expand its geographical footprint outside Europe and move to East Asia, to Japan and Korea. We will also see some of the new official skills making a debut.
Here are some of the highlights for the few next days:
- DMG MORI has turned the company’s showroom in Leonberg, Germany into a WorldSkills Competition venue to host CNC Turning and CNC Milling 10 to 15 October.
- From 10 to 13 October, the skill competition of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning will happen alongside Chillventa, one the world’s largest refrigeration technology exhibitions, in Nürnberg, Germany.
- The Holz woodworking trade fair in Basel, Switzerland will host Carpentry, Joinery, and Cabinetmaking 11 to 14 October 2022.
- Our Bakers and Pâtissiers/Confectioners will compete at one of the most renowned schools in the industry, the Richemont Center for Excellence, 10 to 15 October in Lucerne, Switzerland.
- Good design meets production as Aarau, Switzerland hosts Graphic Design Technology and Print Media Technology 12 to 15 October.
- Korea will host eight competitions: 3D Digital Game Art, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, IT Network Systems Administration, IT Software Solutions for Business, Mobile Applications Development, Plastic Die Engineering, Web Technologies in Goyang, Korea, 13 to 16 October.
- Gold medals won’t be the only gold in Geneva, Switzerland, as jewellers compete from 13 to 16 October.
- Additive Manufacturing makes its WorldSkills debut in Soest, Germany from 13 to 16 October 2022.
- The Visual Merchandising skill competition will take place in an authentic environment, at Kistagallerian shopping mall in Stockholm, Sweden, 14 to 17 October.
- Advanced technology will be in full display as Information Network Cabling, Optoelectronic Technology, and Renewable Energy take centre stage in Kyoto, Japan from 15 to 18 October.
